What started out to be a fun day trip suddenly turned into a day with plenty of drama to Callaway Gardens which is about an hour south of the city and has beautiful rich gardens has a walking and biking path along with a butterfly conservatory.
We suddenly got stuck in traffic and an accident - so Vito turned the Land Rover around and drove the wrong way in the grass with a rather large drop-off out our window. It was really very frightening - after the detour and just moments before we drive into the entrance, Zoe gets sick and has an asthma attack. Steph is on the phone trying to find a pharmacy for an inhaler. While she makes a trip to the pharmacy, which the closest one is about 12 miles away, Carol, Vito, Ashtan and I take off on our bikes for a bike ride. But of course we had to pick the hottest day of the year to do a bike ride and I got over heated.
Upon Stephanie's return from the pharmacy, about an hour and a half later, we had a picnic by the water, fed the turtles and ducks. We then checked out the butterfly conservatory which was pretty cool to be up close and have butterflies actually land on you.
We then headed home and soon after on the road, Zoe starts to say she is feeling sick. Before I could get a bag up to her mouth - vomit comes spewing straight out like the exorcist. Not a fun trip. After everyone was cleaned up, we were exhausted from the drama, and from the heat. It's one of those trips that you just say to yourself, it could have been a fun trip if only......
