It pays to complain

Anyone who has worked in a law firm knows about deadlines and court filings. So, when you hire a courier to file a pleading before the court closes on a Friday, they had better file it on Friday. This particular courier decided (on its own) that this filing could wait until Monday morning without notifying me or the attorneys. Fortunately, for me (and them) this pleading didn't involve a deadline, however, we wanted it to be filed on Friday. So imagine my surprise when the clerk called me Monday morning with a question and stated that the courier had just left. I was fuming. This is about the 3rd courier our office has been with. When are couriers going to realize, when we say it has to be at the court, it HAS to be at the court. Anyway, this was their way of saying sorry, a nice bouquet of chocolate dipped strawberries - okay, apology accepted. (If only I didn't have this stupid look on my face)
